The Gothenburg State Bank and Trust Company is committed to providing the highest level of security and privacy regarding the collection and use of our customers’ personal information.
We collect information that you might consider to be private, such as account number(s), social security number, income and net worth about you (non-public personal information) from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency
We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
We understand the importance of privacy and security when transmitting data online. Online account applications are submitted to the bank’s secure administration site through an encrypted direct line to the bank. We strongly urge you not to e-mail confidential information (such as social security numbers, account numbers, mother’s maiden name, annual income, source of income, etc.) to us. Because an e-mail response back to you will not be secure, we do not include confidential account information in an e-mail response. You may also contact us by phone, mail, or by visiting the bank.
We may disclose personal and account information about you to our Affiliates. An affiliate is a company we own or control, or a company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.
We may disclose personal and account information to a non-affiliated third party that may include marketing of our own products or services or marketing of other services offered pursuant to joint marketing agreements between the bank and non-affiliated third parties, such as insurance companies. Information shared may include name, address, account type and account number. The bank and the non-affiliated third party will have a written agreement that restricts the third party from disclosing or using the customer’s non-public personal information for any purpose other than selling insurance to the bank’s customers.
We may disclose personal and account information to financial service providers, such as Brady Insurance Agency who is affiliated with us. We may disclose information based on our transactions and experiences with you, such as:
